FOTD: Natural Mattes

I went through some of my older FOTDs and maaaan my make up style has definitely changed a lot. Since I entered "the real world" two years ago (around the time I stopped consistently blogging) I've pretty much stuck to the natural look, browns, and an occasional black smokey eye. I love using mattes when I'm going for the natural look, I think it just looks clean and classic, it's enough to be noticeable but definitely not too much for everyday.

I've been so out of the loop with makeup I feel like a lot of my stuff is outdated! But I have a lot of makeup so I've kind of been trying to use whatever I have because I really don't need anymore! I am so tempted to update my MAC palettes to the new ones though! I did purchase the YSL Faux Cils mascara from Sephora a month ago and to be honest I feel like I should absolutely love it, but I almost feel like I'm better off with my MAC Plushlash.

OOTD: Maxi Skirt

Here's an OOTD from dinner with my sister this past weekend. I've never really been into maxi skirts / dresses because I'm super short (I'm barely 5'2"!) but I tried this skirt at the Arden B store's going out of business sale a couple weeks ago and I just loved the way it fit. It's just flattering and the material is super comfortable. I have one other maxi skirt from Forever 21 and there definitely is a difference when the material is a little better quality. I've also been loving my mini Michael Kors purse lately - it's small enough to bring everywhere but large enough to hold the necessities - wallet, keys, lip gloss ;]

... and We're Back!

It's been two years since I've legitimately blogged here but I've been really inspired since I started blogging kind of regularly in my personal blog [] and since I went to a blogger meet up with my sister a few weeks ago. I definitely need to clean up this blog a LOT and update the layout, though. But ta-da! Presenting my first OOTD in years! The outfit I wore to the blogger meetup in Phoenix.

Troo Brow Gel

I recently ran out of my clear MAC Brow Gel and since I'm trying to be debt free by the end of the year, I couldn't really justify the $16+ it cost to replace it. I went to Walmart looking for a cheaper alternative - it is just clear brow gel anyway! - and this was the ONLY brow gel I could find! I swear there were others? This ones around $3-4 a pop, which isn't bad at all. It definitely does the job, but the brush is a little stiff but not too bad. Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a cheap brow gel!

RiRi Hearts MAC?!

Just saw this feed from temptalia about the RiRi hearts MAC collection launching in May!! Omg! The packaging is so simple but cute! Hopefully MAC doesn't disappoint with this one like I've been with so many of their recent collections!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps x OPI Spark de Triomphe

I've been getting into painting my nails again. Something about manicured nails makes me feel pretty! =P lol It's definitely way cheaper than going into the salon every week and I can change the color whenever I feel like it. I also discovered that putting clear polish on the end of my nails keeps it from chipping longer. (I've been averaging about a week before chipping occurs.) Anyway, here's a swatch of China Glaze's Ruby Pumps with OPI's Spark de Triomphe on the ring finger. Not sure how I feel about the silver glitter over the red but it makes me feel Christmasy ^___^
